Russ is a Past Monmouth County SAL Commander, as well as a Past Commander of Squadron 143 in Highlands. Russ is the second Monmouth County SAL Commander, previously serving as Adjutant and Second Vice Commander. While at Squadron 143, Russ was captain of one of the most active SAL Color Guards in the state.

At Detachment Level, Russ served as a Vice Commander, and on the Flag History/Dedication and Color Guard Committees in recent years.

 

Carl Albern, Jr.Finance Officer: Carl Albern, Jr. Squadron 346

Carl has served the S.A.L in various offices for fourteen years. In the County, he served an 18-month term as its first county Commander, then a two-year term as its Detachment Executive Committeeman, and simultaneously served as the county Adjutant. He continues to serve on committees in the County as well as the Detachment of New Jersey.

Carl has been involved in the Detachment of New Jersey for nine years and is currently serving the Detachment as its ANEC, Adjutant and Internet Committee Chairman. Carl is a Past Vice Commander of the Detachment of New Jersey and has worked on the SAL College, Constitution and Bylaws and Community Affairs committees recently. Carl also received an appointment to the National Community Affairs Committee at the 2004 National Convention

D.E.C.: Michael Arner, Squadron 338: Michael is a past Detachment Vice Commander and the Detachment CWF Chairman. Michael has served the Monmouth County Executive Committee as its Commander for the 2003-2004 year. A life member of Squadron 338, Michael has raised more than $30,000 for the Detachment's CWF Committee in his three years as chairman.
