| "Pulling
Double Duty" Monmouth County Officers in Detachment At the Detachment Convention on June 11, several members of the SAL MCEC were elected or appointed to offices in the Detachment of New Jersey. Past Monmouth County Commander Carl Albern, Jr. was elected to the office of Alternate National Executive Committeeman, Past County Commander Michael Arner will again chair the Detachment Child Welfare Committee, and County Commander Patrick Gallagher will chair the Detachment Convention Committee this year. Please be sure to support these members of the County as they do more work for God and Country at the state level. National Convention Past SAL MCEC Commanders Michael Arner and Carl Albern recently attended the National SAL Convention in Nashville, Tennessee. Also attending the Convention was Michael's son, Thomas, a first-time convention delegate. If you wish to obtain information about committees or votes that occured at the Convention, please see either Mike or Carl at the County meetings.
Our new SAL MCEC Commander is Patrick Gallagher from Squadron 346 in Neptune Township. Patrick is a 16-year member of Squadron 346 and has been actively involved in the SAL for most of those years. Patrick has already started work on creating some new squadrons in Monmouth County, and is looking to have more members attend the County meetings. Taking the reins of County Liaison this year is John Gallagher, Past Commander of Post 346, and Legion County Chaplain. |
Upcoming Events
The officers of the SAL Monmouth County Executive Committee encourage all Squadrons to participate in local and statewide events. Comming up in the next couple of months are The County and Department "For God and Country" services, and Veterans Hospital Visits. If you are interested in participating, contact an officer of the county or check out the Detachment of New Jersey Website County Per Capita County Per Capita notices will be sent out soon. Please be on the lookout for them.Dues increase Resolution The resolution for a $1.00 increase in dues that was presented at the Detachment has been approved. But this increase goes into effect following the 2005 Detachment Convention. What does this mean? For the 2005 Administrative year, you still send the same per capita amount in to the Trenton office that you have been sending. When the 2006 cards come out, the dues increase will go into effect, and you will have to send in one additional dollar per card stub. Got upcoming events? Make sure we're aware of them! Click on the County Events link to the right and submit the information for inclusion on the County website. You can do the same at the Detachment site. |
Chairman Carl Albern recently started redesigning the web site for the SAL MCEC. He is always willing to listen to critiques and ideas regarding the site. You can email him at webmaster@monmouthnjsal.org. More changes and updates are coming so keep looking out for them! |
